Dear Patrons,

Thank you for your patience as we worked to reschedule Masterworks 2: Invisible Cities. Despite the best efforts of everyone involved, the stars were not aligned, and we are not able to present this concert as originally planned.

However, Masterworks 2 is still happening!

The NSO is pleased to announce Masterworks 2: The Stars Are Not Aligned. This exciting reimagining will still feature Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade, Glinka’s Ruslan and Lyudmila Overture, and the world premiere of a Canadian percussion concerto.

So, what has changed?

The program will now feature rising star percussionist Michelle Colton performing the world premiere of Kevin Lau’s The Stars Are Not Aligned. This tour-de-force percussion concerto features a wide array of percussion instruments – including the steel pan, Chinese drums, and the warm tones of the marimba.

When is Masterworks 2: The Stars Are Not Aligned happening?

The new date is Sunday May 22, 2022 at 2:30pm. If you already have tickets to Masterworks 2 they are automatically transferred to this new date. If you cannot make the new date, you are eligible for an exchange to a concert of your choice or a refund of the cost of your ticket.

What about TorQ Percussion and Invisible Cities?

The NSO and TorQ Percussion are still determined to present the world premiere of Dinuk Wijeratne’s Invisible Cities right here in Niagara, but due to scheduling demands for this renowned quartet we must do so at a later date. Look forward to further announcements from the NSO regarding this production in a future season.
