Dave Sisler

Dave Sisler (B. Mus. Ed., B. Ed.) began studying trombone as a member of the Niagara Symphony’s summer program. He furthered his studies with the Empire Brass Quintet at the Tanglewood Institute, and then the University of Toronto with Gordon Sweeney. After 31 years of teaching, he retired as Head of Arts at Laura Secord Secondary School where he directed numerous bands and choirs and travelled around the world showcasing various ensembles which performed with top professional artists. Mr. Sisler recieved the Prime Minister’s Award for Teaching Excellence. He continues to work as a freelance trombonist in a diverse variety of styles.

Mr. Sisler has been a member of the Niagara Symphony since 1983.
